A crash has closed part of the city centre ring road this morning.
The Mancunian Way has been closed eastbound due to the crash which is said to involve multiple vehicles.
Traffic is already said to be queuing back to the Chester Road roundabout.
Transport for Greater Manchester (TfGM) said: “Mancunian Way is closed from London Road Eastbound.
“This is due to an RTC.”
“Please take extra care in the area.”
It comes as police issued a warning to those who have to make essential journeys this morning.
A Met Office yellow warning for ice is currently in force across the region until 11am with overnight snow and freezing temperatures leading to treacherous conditions.
And the North West Motorway Police said: “Its a busy start… snow across the region making conditions tricky… Please slow down and drive to the conditions.”
